Investors form Africa debt forum to grapple with Covid fallout

A group of investors have formed a working group to coordinate the tricky issue of debt relief in Africa, as the economic impact of Covid-19 hastens the reality.

Emerging markets are preparing for a hard hit from the coronavirus crisis. Official institutions have already granted suspension of debt payments to the world’s poorest countries.

But there are two unknowns: how China and bondholders will behave.
