Lat Am in good shape despite Argentina chaos

Bond investors say that market sentiment in Latin America has emerged mostly unscathed from brutal sell-off in Argentine assets over the last two weeks and that the tone should be positive going into a busier period in September.

Incumbent Mauricio Macri suffered a heavy defeat in Argentina’s presidential primary elections on August 11, triggering panic among investors fearing a return to anti-business policies and the possibility of a bond default.
