A cluster of large pan-African companies are exploring listings on the London Stock Exchange, but many have delayed their plans because of political risk in both Africa and the UK.

London has traditionally been a home for African, and other emerging market, listings because of the large network of international fund managers based there and the exchange's long history as a resources hub.
