High grade lenders spy hint of Brexit reprieve

The lacklustre EMEA high grade loan market was witness to a piercing ray of hope from Donald Tusk, president of the European Council and prime minister of Poland on Thursday, when he called for a “long extension” to the UK’s Brexit deadline.

Tusk tweeted that he plans to “appeal to the EU27 to be open to a long extension if the UK finds it necessary to rethink its Brexit strategy”.

This will bring some cheer to the high grade loan market, after months of dreadful volumes.
