UBS hires Hardwick as digital head

UBS has hired former Deutsche Bank innovation head Elly Hardwick as chief digital officer, and rehired Rick Carey as chief technology officer, part of a broader revamp of the firm’s technology team.

Hardwick, who founded and ran start-up risk fintechCredit Benchmark before joining Deutsche, will establish an “artificial intelligence centre of excellence” at the bank, and the group innovation team will report to her.
