MPS resumes trading below state recap price

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) resumed trading on the Borsa Italiana this week, with its shares opening more than 35% below the level at which the Italian state recapitalised the bank.

Shares in Italy’s fourth largest lender by assets were trading at €4.10 when the market opened on Wednesday, before rising to a price of around €4.71 per share on Thursday.
