NBG among banks plotting Greek covered bond return

National Bank of Greece (NBG) and another Greek issuer have confirmed they are looking at issuing the first Greek covered bonds since the sovereign debt crisis, reports Bill Thornhill.

The deputy head of funding solutions and structured finance at NBG confirmed to GlobalCapital on Thursday that the bank is considering issuing a covered bond. “We are looking into all available options for a return to modest primary market activity,” said Apostolos Mantzaris.
