It’s been a good year for Sri Lankan borrowers, with the first corporate back in the international bond markets for almost a decade. However, SriLankan Airlines’ impressive deal in June was only made possible by the sovereign, which carefully laid the groundwork by taking home $1bn in January, pricing inside its curve, and then returning in April for another $500m at an even lower coupon.
