Peru’s Chinese owned Copeinca fishes for flexibility

Peruvian anchovy fishermen
FILE - In this Dec. 4, 2012 file photo, fishermen eat lunch in the bow of a fishing boat, docked in the port of El Callao, after a night of fishing in the Pacific waters off the coast of Peru. Not only has overfishing of the Peruvian anchovy, or anchoveta, imperiled the country’s role as the world’s No. 1 fish-meal exporter, it has also raised alarm about food security in a nation that had long been accustomed to cheap, abundant seafood.
