Alfredo Mattera, a high-yield analyst who focused on special situations (distressed and cross-over credits) at Barclays Capital in London, recently left the firm to take a position at hedge fund Polygon Investment Partners. Mattera had spent three years at Barclays, according to Robert Jones, head of high-yield research in London, who said the firm has no immediate plans to replace him.
Mattera declined to comment when reached at Polygon, a hedge fund headed by Reade Griffith and Alex Jackson. Mattera's new role could not be determined. Heather Robertson, spokeswoman, said the hedge fund is "low profile, by design." She declined further comment.
