BoI sounds out funds for Eu3bn capital boost
Bank of Ireland has started discussions with institutional investors about a large capital raising, it confirmed on Thursday. The bank is considering a range of options and may raise up to Eu2.7bn through a rights issue, a firm placing and a conversion on market terms of preference shares issued to the state as it seeks to keep government ownership to a minimum.
