JBIC to pave way for further Canadian issuance
Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) sold its debut Canadian dollar bond on Tuesday, with leads securing a sizeable oversubscription and tightening pricing from the levels offered in the initial price thoughts. Demand for the paper was sharpened by the drought of Canadian dollar SSA issuance from offshore issuers in recent months, though bankers close to the trade hope the success of JBIC will encourage issuers to return to the market.
