EU innovates with 20 year mandate
The European Union put its substantial weight behind the nascent 20 year euro benchmark market on Friday, mandating five banks to manage a deal of that tenor. The issue, which could come as early as Monday, will establish a new point on the curve for top rated issuers and if it goes well, could prompt a spate of 20 year issues.
