Surveys have been sent out for Loan Market Week's eight annual Best Trading Desk awards ranking the best par and distressed loan trading desks. Investors receive one vote per firm. Please fax your surveys back to 212-224-3602 by April 4.
The par rankings are derived from four questions. These cover research/info and trading ideas, trustworthiness and reliability, tightest markets and the widest breadth of real markets. There are also separate questions that do not contribute to the points total, including closing, best coverage of middle-market names, best salesforce and hustle. In addition there will be an award for the best individual trader.
Distressed also has awards for the best individual trader, the hustle factor, best coverage of the power sector and coverage of European names, though these do not contribute to the points total. The four categories that contribute to the rankings are value added research and trading ideas, best execution in terms of sourcing and selling paper, trustworthiness and reliability and closing.
