John Fraser, a portfolio manager with Angelo, Gordon & Co., has left the firm only weeks after the departure of Jeff Aronson, the portfolio manager responsible for all of the firm's distressed securities and leveraged loan efforts.
A source said Fraser would be looking to start his own fund, but he could not be reached for comment. An Angelo Gordon official confirmed Fraser's resignation. She denied a rumor that key-man provisions have been affected and said the firm is currently looking to raise another collateralized loan obligation. Despite losing two top managers in quick succession, Angelo Gordon should be able to attract talented managers to fill any gaps, the loan participant said.
