Merrill Reshuffles Economics Group

Merrill Lynch is reshuffling its economic research group due to the loss of one of its members to the firm's wealth management strategy group. Ron Wexler, U.S. economist, has become a wealth management strategist and now reports to Tom Sowanick, head of wealth management strategy.

Wexler is being replaced by Claudia Lokody, formerly a Canadian economist in Merrill's Toronto office. Lokody has taken over analysis of U.S. economic conditions and now reports to David Rosenberg, chief North American economist. Her role as Canadian economist is being filled by David Adamse, who recently joined the firm from RBC Capital Markets, according to Adamse. Adamse reports to David Wolf, who also recently joined from RBC Capital Markets to become chief strategist and head Canadian economist. He replaces Robert Spector, who left earlier this year for buy-sider McLean Budden (BW, 2/14).
