London-based hedge fund Picus Capital Management has hired Martin Hornbuckle, head of credit strategy at Royal Bank of Scotland in London, as an investment specialist.

London-based hedge fund Picus Capital Management has hired Martin Hornbuckle, head of credit strategy at Royal Bank of Scotland in London, as an investment specialist. He starts later this month and will report to the firm's two partners, William Healey and Robert Hartmann. Healey said, "Martin is well known in the market, has first hand experience with the credits we trade and will have an immediate impact." The hire is for a new role, and follows that of Matthew Robbins (BW, 4/4), bringing the investment team managing the firm's $37 million to four professionals.

Hornbuckle spent close to two years as head of credit strategy at RBS, where he reported to Kit Juckes, head of strategy and credit research. Juckes said RBS is in the process of hiring a replacement.
