London-based hedge fund Picus Capital Management has hired Matthew Robbins, v.p. in credit research at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London, as an investment specialist. He started last week and reports to the firm's two partners, William Healey and Robert Hartmann. "Matt's experience in non-investment grade credit and familiarity with multiple asset classes including bank loans, high-yield bonds and credit default swaps will significantly enhance our bottom-up credit research capabilities," said Hartmann. The hire is for a new role.
Picus Capital was founded in 2003 and specializes in investing in sub-investment grade assets of European corporates. The firm also invests to a lesser extent in mezzanine debt, convertible bonds, preference shares and equity.
At DrKW, Robbins focused on European industrial corporates and reported to Arndt Muthreich, head of credit research. Muthreich said Robbins will be replaced internally.
