Citigroup's global fixed-income unit has promoted two officials to run its credit trading group. David Pichler and James Higgins will be co-heads of global credit trading, said Danielle Romero-Apsilos, spokeswoman. They will replace Brian Riano who is leaving the firm to start a hedge fund. Pichler was most recently head of U.S. investment-grade trading and Higgins was head of European credit trading. Higgins will continue to work out of the firm's London office, Romero-Apsilos said.
John Eckerson and Sean Fahey, who are launching the fund with Riano, will not be replaced. Their responsibilities will be absorbed internally, Romero-Apsilos said. Pichler and Higgins were not available for comment.
