Quarry Point Partners, which is run by Roger Gordon, formerly head of global high-yield research at Goldman Sachs, and Barry Schwartz, ex-head of high-yield trading and sales at the former Banc One Capital Markets, is looking to hire a senior analyst. The Chicago firm just kicked off its long/short high-yield fund that has been in the works for several months. Quarry already has one senior analyst and a junior analyst on board, said Gordon. The firm is seeking a young, aggressive analyst able to analyze financial statements for credit ramifications, he added.
The fund, which was launched with around $25 million, focuses on intra-credit capital structure arbitrage. Gordon and Schwartz most recently worked together at Banc One, where Gordon was head of high-yield research.
