Wachovia Securities has hired Eric Glicksman, head of equity structured products at Lehman Brothers in New York, and plans to further grow its structuring team. Todd Steinberg, managing director and head of equity-linked products in New York, to whom Glicksman reports, said he is replacing Gloria Schneider, who recently retired from the industry. In his new role, Glicksman is responsible for equity-linked notes and equity-linked certificates of deposit, the position is also being expanded to include hedge fund-linked products and synthetic convertibles, he said. Jorge Ramirez, v.p. in equity derivatives structuring, is also joining Wachovia from Lehman Brothers and will report to Glicksman. Additional hires, particularly in the growing area of hedge-fund linked products, are planned, Steinberg added.
Separately, Dan Hutchinson, director in institutional sales for both over-the-counter and listed equity derivatives at Deutsche Bank, has joined the firm in a similar role, said Steinberg. Further senior hires are additionally planned in convertibles as part of the growth strategy of the division, he said.
