HSBC's nascent Hong Kong equity derivatives desk is gearing up to begin prop trading in the coming days. Stephane Chaboureau, trading manager of volatility products in equity derivatives, said it will start trading Hong Kong 'H' shares for its index arbitrage book next week and options next month. "We're on schedule," he added, referring to the fact that he was transferred from Paris earlier this year along with Stephane Leleu, trading manager of volatility products in equity derivatives (DW, 2/15) to build the desk.
