Derivatives Documentation, a derivatives documentation consultancy, is considering running an intensive course for lawyers and bankers planning to enter the derivatives documentation market. The course would cover the legal, credit and operational issues involved in derivatives and fixed income documentation as well as training in negotiating master agreements.
Paul Harding, managing director, said he is considering launching the course because of shortages at the banks for junior documentation experts.
Harding said any success would hinge on two factors. Firstly it would need the backing of key industry trade associations and secondly, it would need the major hiring institutions to recognize the diploma as a serious qualification.
