Lehman Brothers is promoting Timothy Throsby to global head of equity derivatives, from head of equities for Asia-Pacific. Throsby is expected to transfer to New York. But whether the position is a new slot or he is replacing someone could not be determined by press time. Throsby was traveling and could not be reached.
Throsby joined Lehman in 2002 from Goldman Sachs, where he was head of the Asia derivatives business (DW, 10/14/02). Officials said it is common for Lehman to recall business heads who have proved their worth in Asia to take global roles in Europe or the U.S. Benoit Savoret, Throsby's predecessor in Asia, was recalled to London to boost Lehman's equity cash and derivatives trading effort.
For Asia, Hyung Soon Lee in Tokyo will assume Throsby's responsibilities in addition to his role as head of fixed income.
