JPMorgan has transferred David Long, managing director and head of equity derivatives in Hong Kong, to New York. Long, who made the move last week, will oversee flow, convertibles, equity exotics, hybrids and equity structured investments in the big apple.
As first reported on DW's Web site, Long is one of the most high-profile and well-compensated equity derivative officials in the region. He is also the co-owner of the U.K.'s Pizza Express franchise in Hong Kong. The transfer will boost the firm's New York office which has seen a string of senior departures in the last year, including Adam Green, co-head of structured products, to Lehman Brothers in the spring (DW, 4/28).
Long will look to build up the retail structured products business at the firm, which is seen as a major growth area in the U.S., following its experience in the booming retail market in Asia. He was traveling and could not be reached.
Tokyo-based Patrick Moisy, head of Asia-Pacific proprietary trading and rates trading for Japan, will assume responsibility for equity derivatives and cash trading for Asia including Japan. Also, Nick Andrews, head of Asia-Pacific equities in Hong Kong, has also been named head of emerging markets for global equities and will split his time between Hong Kong and London.
