LSE hopes for EM business after Essar boost

Essar Energy should, if its IPO prices as planned today (Friday) start trading on the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday in what will be the largest overseas flotation of an Indian company. The $2.5bn deal highlights the growing importance of emerging market businesses in Europe’s capital markets but comes at a time when the LSE is fighting ever-increasing competition in the international listing space.
