The corporate bond market is heading for another week’s deal hiatus, as borrowers hold their fire amid still turbulent conditions. Bankers say they need the perfect candidate to test the waters after a couple of days of stability — ideally, a highly-rated, well-known corporate issuer in the utility or telecoms sector. However, few of these companies have urgent funding needs, and all are unwilling to pay the extra premium now required to get a deal away.
