Corporate hybrids get boost as Hutch raises $2bn
Hong Kong conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa last week sold only the second corporate hybrid bond from an Asian issuer in over a decade. The $2bn deal priced inside where analysts saw fair value — albeit at the wide end of whispers — and showed the strong demand available for perpetual hybrids from corporations in the region.
