The sell-off also thrust into the spotlight two planned rights issues from Greece’s Piraeus Bank and Italy’s Banco Popolare, deals that had been launched in happier times, when investors were in a risk-on mood and were welcoming the opportunity to reverse underweight positions in FIG.
