Commission consultation raps rating agency knuckles
Following the Financial Stability Board’s recommendations on how to remove ratings agencies from the future financial regulatory framework, the European Commission has published its own thoughts on the matter. And while the Commission is an enthusiastic critic of the agencies, it stops short of envisaging a world in which their judgements do not play any role in capital requirements.
