Daiwa returns to profit — but Japanese banks are still getting squeezed
Japanese broker Daiwa Securities Group returned to profit after nine months of losses, it announced on Tuesday. It is the latest Japanese financial institution to reveal profits in an earnings season that has shown the country’s banks continue to be squeezed by swelling deposits and a steadily tumbling domestic loan business.
