Banks locked out of senior as peripheral widening threatens core Europe
The senior unsecured market will remain impenetrable for bank issuers as long as spreads continue to widen in peripheral Europe, said bankers on Wednesday. Some added that issuers are already awarding mandates for execution in September, although many are worried that senior unsecured will be the last FIG asset class to recover.
