PFC faces long wait after bond mandate

India's Power Finance Corp has picked banks to arrange a $1bn medium term note programme, paving the way for a deal that could happen when the markets stabilise. But that could be some time away: the company could be forced to wait until next year before launching the transaction, said bankers.
