Summer ends early but market still sizzling as BNPP, Svenska launch senior
FIG market participants might have been forgiven for thinking they had slept through summer and woken up in September on Thursday morning. As BNP Paribas and Svenska Handelsbanken launched senior deals at the longer end of the curve, any semblance of a traditional summer lull evaporated — and so did a large portion of the deals’ new issue premiums.
