Egypt skips syndicates for $2.7bn 2014s

The Arab Republic of Egypt issued a $2.7bn 4.25% 2014 bond via bookrunners HSBC and QNB Capital on Tuesday. The note was issued from the country’s $12bn EMTN programme but a syndicate official at one of the banks said that the note had not been placed through his desk.
