When Chen Gongyan, chairman of the Securities Association of China (SAC), addressed a meeting of his senior colleagues and representatives of 37 sponsors of upcoming A-share IPOs on Monday, his message could not have been clearer. The reforms announced by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on November 30 were a revolution, he told the meeting, transforming the substance of the listing regime while still offering comprehensive protection for investors.
