Another Eu2bn slug for Anglo Irish but aid could hit a whopping Eu20bn
Ireland’s finance ministry will inject a further Eu2bn into nationalised lender Anglo Irish Bank, it said on Monday, taking the total amount of support for the bank to Eu12.3bn.
The additional capital has become necessary after writedowns on loans transferred to the National Asset Management Agency (Nama), Irelands bad bank, were higher than it expected.
