US healthcare debate pushes insurers’ CDS to front stage

Insurance companies dominated CDS dealing in the US last month — a period that is traditionally one of the slowest for the global markets — according to data released this week by broker GFI.

The two most active sectors were full line insurance and property/casualty insurance, while three of the five most active single names were MBIA Insurance, AMBAC and MetLife.
