UK pay legislation to go further than Walker
UK chancellor Alistair Darling told parliament on Monday that the Treasury will consult on legislation mandating more disclosure of bankers’ remuneration than recommended in the Walker review.
Last week, Walkers report said that banks should be required to disclose how many of their employees were paid more than £1m a year, broken down into bands of pay and by business area. Darling said that the legislation would go further.
