Citi lures Geoghegan back to banking
Citigroup has hired Basil Geoghegan, a former M&A rainmaker with Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, as part of its European investment banking recruitment drive.
Geoghegan, an M&A generalist, joins from Acision, a telecoms company he joined in August last year after leaving Deutsche.
The Irish-born Geoghegan was a rising star in Goldman's UK team, advising the UK government on its failed attempt to sell Northern Rock in 2009.
He quit to join Deutsche later
