  • Russian borrowers so far this year have not disappointed investors, as deals continue to hit the syndicated loan market thick and fast. This week oil company TNK has been preparing to launch a new deal and rival Rosneft is approaching relationship banks to join its new $600m transaction.
  • Banks were signed into the Eu400m five year loan for DSM yesterday (Thursday).   • EuroWeek has heard that hydro power company Hafslund is on the brink of awarding the mandate to arrange its new Eu300m three to five year facility. Banks close to the mandate are Danske Bank, DnB Markets and WestLB. The deal is expected to carry a margin in excess of the 95bp the borrower secured in July 2002. Mandated arrangers for that Eu500m five year facility were BayernLB and DnB Markets.
  • The mandate to arrange the Eu150m three year facility for PBK/BPH has been awarded to Bank Austria and Sumitomo. The deal will be launched into syndication by today (Friday). The transaction will carry a margin in excess of the 27bp margin that the borrower's 2001 Eu110m facility paid.
