  • Société Tunisienne de Banque signed its debut $100m five year term loan in Tunis on Wednesday November 5. The deal was oversubscribed and increased from $75m.

  • Akbank has raised over $400m so far for its $300m 365 day term loan, which is due to be signed next week. The deal pays a margin of 65bp over Libor and refinances part of a $450m one year term loan signed last September. That deal paid a margin of 75bp over Libor.
  • Union Bank of Norway
  • International Power signed banks into its $400m five year loan on October 16. Mandated lead arrangers and joint bookrunners ABN Amro and Royal Bank of Scotland are joined by Crédit Lyonnais and ING at the top level.
  • Koç Holding is approaching the market for a $100m two year loan. If successful this will be the first deal with a maturity of over one year signed in Turkey since the economic crisis of February 2001.
  • Corporates dominated the primary market in euros this week as they continued to take advantage of the attractive levels on offer. Bouygues, Reuters and Fortum all launched successful issues, while SES Global's was six times oversubscribed.
