THE REPUBLIC of Portugal’s Eu3bn syndicated OT fell victim to the dramatic widening seen in peripheral government bonds this week. The culprits were Greece and Italy, whose long dated bonds widened by 12bp and 10bp respectively in just over a week, but the malaise extended across the curve, affecting all non-core debt.
