Japanese issuers flirt with euros

Japanese bond issuers have become much more prominent players in the global capital markets over the last five years, resulting in a several-fold rise in their dollar bond issuance. But their euro denominated issuance has not kept pace, and is still prone to long periods of inactivity. The opportunities are there, bankers say — but you have to be ready to work for them.
