Barbarians storm the gate with Eu12bn LBO for Wind

ABN Amro, Deutsche and Sanpaolo IMI began building a new landmark in the European capital markets this week as they launched syndication of the continent's largest ever leveraged buy-out — the Eu12.138bn purchase of Italian telco Wind.

A consortium called Weather, led by Egyptian entrepreneur Naguib Sawiris, is buying the mobile operator Wind from Enel, the Italian utility firm.
