Companies seek to convince EU of derivative rule flaws

More than 160 non-financial companies based in Europe have weighed in to try to convince regulators that proposed strict new regulations of over-the-counter derivatives are misguided.

The companies on Tuesday signed a letter to the Commissioners of the European Union urging them to reconsider proposals being drafted to regulate the derivatives market. The signatories included companies such as BAE Systems, Air France and Daimler.
