Spectrum, Citgo look to end high yield drought

Citgo Petroleum and Spectrum Brands this week provided a glimmer of hope for the US high yield bond market, which, by Thursday evening, had endured a barren week for issuance in its worst showing since March 2009.

Spectrum Brands, the consumer goods firm, was due to break the week-long drought in new issuance after guidance of around 9.75% emerged on Thursday for a senior secured notes offering, which was increased from $500m to $750m.
