RBS eyes Brazil franchise, looks to Deutsche staff

Royal Bank of Scotland is awaiting regulatory approval to establish an investment banking division in Brazil and is courting rival Latin bankers from international and regional institutions to run its business, EuroWeek can confirm.

"There has been aggressive pitching to the RBS management to operate in Brazil since you cannot be a Latin America name — or even an emerging markets player — if you do not have a presence there," a banker close to the institution revealed.
