Pronto! Telecom Italia lifts peripheral issuers

Europe’s deal-starved corporate bond investors flocked to a Eu1bn five year bond from Telecom Italia on Tuesday, placing more than Eu6.5bn of orders for the note.

The deal was the first corporate bond from a peripheral eurozone credit this year. Bankers said it boded well for others wanting to tap the market.
