EM sector splits as investors head south and east for safety

Emerging market new issues shrugged off continuing turbulence in the Arab world this week to rack up volumes of over $2.7bn in the busiest week of the year so far.

Some $1.5bn of sovereign supply from South Africa and Lithuania headed a raft of central and east European, Middle Eastern and African borrowers, including several state owned companies, as EM bond fund flows bounced back into positive territory.
